Andros Kykladon
Andros is the northernmost island of Cyclades and the second largest island after Naxos. Andros has rich vegetation and crystal water but also the typical landscape of Cyclades of sandy beaches and rocky mountain ranges.
In Andros capital, Chora, are situated majestic mansions, beautiful churches and Venetian monuments, also boasts for two outstanding museums, Andros Archaeological Museum and Museum of Modern Art, both of them were donated to the state by Goulandris family, one of the wealthy ship – owning families of Andros island. Batsi is the most polular resort in summer months as there are a lot of choices of accommodation and amusement. Batsi has a big sandy beach that is ideal for swimming and marine sports. Apikia village worths a visit for its famous water source Sariza.
ACCESS :
By boat : From Rafina to Gavrio ( 2 hours ). There are daily scheduled departures. Andros is also directly connected with Tinos and Mykonos ( daily ), with Syros ( twice a week ) and with other islands of Cyclades.
